Huntsville High panthers dominated both the swimming and diving events in a triple dual meet match up Wednesday night at the Natatorium with Randolph, John Paul II and Florence.

Huntsville’s Savannah Ledbetter and Jordon Bagwell both took first places in the girls and boys diving events followed by Liz Olson (200 and 500 Free), Elise Maurel (100 Free and 100 Back) and Sean McCarthy (100 Free and 100 Back) each winning two individual swimming events at State Qualifying Times for their team.

Kristyn Wilson (200 IM and 100 Fly) and Derek Russell (200 IM and 500 Free) also scored double first places for the Randolph Raiders with times that will take them to the AHSSA State Meet in December.

This meet served as a floodgate for swimmers achieving times fast enough to qualify them to compete at the state level.

10/01/11 - Cullman vs. Hartselle vs. Huntsville
Huntsville High School Panthers overpowered and outmanned the Hartselle Tigers and Cullman Bearcats swim teams at the Cullman Wellness and Aquatic Center Saturday morning in a double-dual swim meet. Cullman edged out a win over Hartselle.

For the Huntsville women, Liz Olson led the way with first place finishes in the 200 and 500 freestyle events. Jennifer Stark also claimed two first place finishes in the 100 fly and the 100 breaststroke. Elise Maurel won the 100 free, and combined with Olson, Stark, and Amanda Clark to win the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay. On the men's side, Sean McCarthy of HHS won the 100 fly and 100 backstroke events.

Qualifying for the AHSAA championship were Olson, Stark, Maurel, Clark, McCarthy, Stone Sparkman, and John Smith of Huntsville High; Tiffany Pittman of Harstelle High; Michelle Pilcher, Chris McAlpin, and Noah Price of Cullman.

(HSV defeated HART 140-39, HSV defeated CHS 140-44, and CHS defeated HART 92-82)
